SQL 2016 Transaction logs backups

Post by Adam F. »

I've got a SQL 2016 server with 3 DBs on it. 2 production and 1 test. The test DB is not connected to any application so any changes are done manually. When I go to test the "point in time" restore I'm not seeing any of the manual changes that the DBA is making to the tables. I've looked at the 2 production DBs and their PIT lists are fully populated. Is this because the changes were done manually or am I missing something else?

Windows 2012 R2
SQL 2016
Veeam B&R 9.5
The DB is configured for Full restore mode and the ID we're using is part of the db_owners group.

Hi Adam,

What operations are you looking for? Are manual changes listed in SQL Database Operation table? Thanks.

You'll have to forgive me because I know very VERY little SQL, but according the the person that made the changes they "updated a column in three rows of one table."

Ask your SQL admin to create new table and then make sure that you have the transaction log backup created. Then test point in time restore - it should reflect the changes properly.
