We have Veeam 9.5.0.711 running on a VMware Esxi 5.1 environment with a Dell TL2000 Tape drive connected with SAS to a Windows Server 2012 physical server. We added a new LTO 6 tape drive
and are testing a restore to verify that the LTO6 tape backup is reliable. Due to the backup size we had to add a new backup repository. This backup repository is a USB 8TB WD drive
connected to the Server 2012 physcial server. The server only has USB 2.0 ports. We were able to add the repository and ran a restore. The VM from tape restore Failed with
"Script execution timed out". Restore job was hung
due to Error "Could not receive signal that job [VM from tape restore] is ready to finish"
and the restore was not automatically imported. When I tried to manually import the restore file Veeam sees the file and
it appears as a valid file and it is the same size as the tape backup but unable to import. Does this indicate no response from the Disk Drive or from the Agent on the server?
Most likely, communication with corresponding USB drive was lost for some reason. I'm wondering whether you can double check if the backup file is still accessible on the drive and whether you can copy the file somewhere and try to re-import it.
Anyway, it stands to reason to reach our support team for closer investigation.
At this time that is the only repository with the necessary space to restore tape file to. We will delete the file and try to do a new restore and if we have the same issue will open issue with Support. Thanks,
