Maximum number of 1 click FLR session

Post by Yukinobu »

Hi guys,

We want to use self-service 1 click restore feature.
So we are afraid of the load of mount server caused by the execution of a lot of FLR session.

Can we set the limitation for number of FLR session?
(We already confirm that the max concurrent tasks setting of proxy and repository cannot limit it)

Regards,
Yukinobu

Hi Yukinobu, there's currently no built-in ability to control the number of concurrent FLR sessions. Btw, what amount of users do you expect to use the self-service feature at the same time in your environment (hard to predict, I know, but at least the order could tell)?

Hi foggy,

Thank you for info.
But we don't know amount of users...

If we create guest OS indexing, FLR session is short(only extract files from backup).
If we don't create it, FLR session remain during browse files(mount VM disk in backup for browsing).
Is it right?

And I remenber that Veeam Explorer is time out after 30 mins.
Is it same work about FLR session by EM?
And we can change it by following registory key?
InactiveFLRSessionTimeout(DWORD)

In case of indexing enabled, FLR session is closed right after restore. In case indexing is not enabled, there're actually two mount sessions in general case, where the mount server for repository is not the server initiating the restore (backup server or console). In this case, browsing session is not closed once restore is completed, but is closed once you log off the EM or after 15 minutes of inactivity (there're a couple of values to control the behavior in this case). Mount session used for actual restore is closed upon restore completion.
