Low Disk Space?

Post by kilobits »

I have a backup running that failed due to low disk space on the NAS. After clearing some old backups, I rerun the job and get this error:

Code: Select all

Error: Retrieved less bytes from the storage [0] than required [8704]. Offset: [3312397312]. File: [\\*filepath* backup.vrb].
Failed to restore file from local backup. VFS link: [summary.xml].
Is this another way of alerting of low disk space?? Usually a low disk space error is explicit in saying "There is not enough space..."

Hi Joe,

Did you delete those old backup files manually from the disk or through the Veeam Console UI?
Which backup mode are you using for the backup job?

Thanks!

I manually removed old backups from the NAS. Currently running reverse incremental.

Did you delete .vrb files only or .vbk have been deleted too? Please review existing topic about restore point deletion, should be helpful.

Thanks!

Yes I deleted both. There appears to be sufficient space on the NAS, but am getting this error message still. It appears the NAS has sufficient space.

Have you kept the most recent full backup file (VBK)? You would need to make an active full otherwise.

...on a side note, the term "storage" has nothing to do with actual datastores, it is an internal name for the backup file.
