Veeam with only one VM

Post by robg » 1 person likes this post

Hello, I have a client that I'd like to move to Veeam from backup exec. They only have 1 host, and 1 windows VM on it. Can I just install Veeam on the same VM without going to the trouble of spinning up another windows install just for Veeam, any issues with that? The repository would be a usb drive.

Hello Rob.
Yes, you can install VBR Server on VM and backup the VM.
Thanks!

Hi,

keep in mind to configure "This repository is backed by rotated hard drives" under "Advanced" at the Repoistory propeties.
So it would not fail if eg. the drive letter changes..
