Hi Guys,
for one of our client we are using a external HDD for sure backup.
however after every night we are receiving this error.

2/21/2017 11:59:59 PM Error Unable to write to configuration backup file.
2/21/2017 11:59:59 PM Error Processing configuration VeeamBackup at VEEAM\VEEAMSQL2012
2/21/2017 11:59:59 PM Error Compressing database VeeamBackup
2/21/2017 11:59:59 PM Error The device is not ready.
2/21/2017 11:59:59 PM Error Creating configuration backup
we have replaced the HDD with a new but the same issue .

can you please advise what could be the reason ?

Hi Julien, this looks like the target path for Veeam B&R configuration backup is not accessible. Please check the repository used to store configuration backup files.

Thank you for your answer, the target is accessible and the backup has been saved there on the same time that the server needs to backup the configuration files.
that what makes it weird !

i managed to fix this,
the issue was the server energie n save mode, means kills the usb ports to save up the power.
after i've changed that to the performace stuff remain working

Hi Julien,

Thanks for coming back to us with the solution you found! I am sure this will help some others with the same problem. Just a quick follow-up. Was that the default energy setting? And what OS are you running? (OK, not so quick follow-up ;-))
