Correctly recovering from a Corrupt VM

Setup
Vcenter with 3 hosts - Several VM`s on each host
Veeam B+R9.5
Backing up to NAS drive and replicating to a DR site.

One of our VMware VM`s became corrupt when powering on after a failure.
What is the best procedure from recovering from this?
Would it be to recover to a snapshot in Vcenter? (right click VM > Snapshot manager > Go to "recent snapshot"?.
or setup failover in Veeam to the replica in the DR site?.

Im not really 100% sure about Snapshots and restoring from these?!

Any advice would be grateful

I'd say it partly depends on what's the most current backup for the VM. In other words, if you've taken a standalone VMware snapshot, replicated the VM to DR, and backed up the VM using Veeam, what's the last one of those that you did before the VM became corrupt? I'd suggest using the most recent protection method to restore the VM so that you minimize any data loss.

You seem to be talking about replication functionality and the fact that it stores restore points in a form of VM snapshot. In this case, the recommended procedure would be to initiate failover procedure followed by failback one. Thanks.
