Error 1326 to a shared folder
Hello,
I am using a NAS synology at home and I want to test veeam agent.
I configured a backup to go to a shared folder with proper credentials but I have this error (translated to english) :
"username or password is incorrect. Error code: 1326 Failed to create or open file."
So I tested and used this shared folder from another PC with same credentials : I can create subfolders.
I gave a subfolder : same issue.
(Backuping to a local drive has no issue of course)
I do not understand. Seems a so basic issue...
Hope can someone point me where I am wrong.
Regards.
JP

Hi JP,
Please try access from the computer where VEB is installed and let us know how it goes. Basically, just open a NAS via regular windows browser and type in your creds.I tested and used this shared folder from another PC

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
Hi,
Sorry, I was not clear : I am already using this shared folder on my PC (Windows10) with no issue.
But I admit I do not remember which credentials I used the first time I opened it. (And I have not found yet how to remove this credentials from windows10)
That is why I tried from another PC with known credentials, same as VEB.

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
I just found how to remove one credentials on windows 10.
So I could remove the one for my NAS (it was proper one), then access again with my credentials.
But VEB still cannot...
Very strange.

jpm,
Can you create a new folder on your NAS with anonymous access enabled and check if you can run the backup to this folder?

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
Hi,
I created a share with guest acces.
I remove my credentials on windows10.
I accessed the share and created a directory without giving any credentials.
Then I configured the backup but I get an error (not same code) :
http://hpics.li/394f361

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
Hi,
Can you create a support call with this? It might be something small and it might be something serious so our engineers can better look at the logs and try to figure out where it goes wrong
Please post the support case ID here and the follow up after working with support
thanks
Mike

Did you check both write and read permissions for anonymous access?I accessed the share and created a directory without giving any credentials.

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
Yes.
After being unsuccessful with veeam I tried 2 other backup software that are doing their backups daily to same NAS share.
I tried first time with the share that accept anonymous access and it worked.
Now they are using the share with credentials for several days.
Note that error for veeam is 58, no more 1326. Have no idea if it important or may help.
I said it was strange...

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
Hi jpm,
Thanks for sharing. Right now, it looks like non-software issue (more likely a permissions or access issue). Please contact our support team via VEB Control Panel > Support > Technical Support (NAS) and they will check debug logs and help you to setup VEB backup to NAS share.

Re: Error 1326 to a shared folder
When I input my personnal email address, the register form gives this error : "Please enter your business email" ^^
So I guessed it checks with well-known non-business email...
