Full site replication to DR site ?

Post by hoanglv »

Hi
my DC site has 3 physical ESXi server. one of them is down and i execute "failover to DR site" but how other physical ESXi server can connect to ESXi server on DR site as local. for example, i have a VM which runs AD. but physical ESXi server which contains AD is down so how client on other ESXi server can authenticate to AD which executed failover to AD on DR site.

You'd need a connection between those VM's by leveraging the existing connection or a VPN. Is there a VPN in place?

we used service provider so client does not have existing connection or VPN. SP provided a account on cloud and user used that account to trigger "Failover" to DR site. Veeam has any solution for this scenario, doen not it ?

So you mean you are using Cloud Connect currently with your service provider? If so you can use Cloud Connect Replication and use a cloud host at your service provider to replicate the VM's there. If one VM fails Veeam will create a link between your DC and the DC from the service provider so business can continue (partial failover).
