One simple database showing as not backed up

Post by arosas »

Veeam support case: 02116338

SQL server, default instance with 29 DBs. 9 of the DBs are simple mode DBs. In SQL mgmt studio when querying last backup date, all DBs (both simple and full) show the current date as being backed up except one. This DB shows as not being backed up since we setup the backup job.

The Veeam job gives no errors and has been processing log backups for the full DBs without any issues.
When doing a restore, the DB in question is displayed in Veeam SQL explorer as available to restore with a current date of being backed up.

There seems to be something with this one DB where the backed up date isn't being updated by veeam, even though the backup has been successful.

Thoughts?

A key piece of information I forgot to mention was that this DB is the vCenter database. I just got word back from support that this DB is excluded from application aware image processing so the backup date will not change on it.

I will just need to setup a manual SQL backup job to back this DB up locally.

Just wanted to share in case anyone ran across this.
