strange provisioned space on replica

Post by EBoucq »

Hi,

Any idea why a replica (thick provisioning disks) of a vm with thick provisioning disks and 1 restore point shows a provisioned storage twice the size of the used storage ?
I'm using Veeam B&R 9.5 U1.

Thank you !

Hi Eric,

Does it show this data in the Veeam backup console or in the vSphere Client? Can you please clarify?

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

It shows in the vSphere client.
Replica:

Provisioned : 250 GB
Used: 125 GB

Source VM:
Provisioned: 125 GB
Used: 125 GB

Thanks.

I believe this is because VM replica restore points are stored in VM snapshots, which can grow to the max size of the source virtual disk. In your case it would be 125 GBs, so 250 GB seems to be the right number.
