Veeam Endpoint Backup free on Hyper-V Server

Post by Neo32 »

Hi Everyone,

is Endpoint Backup free full supported on Hyper-V Server 2012R2 / 2016 Core server?

We tried it on a Hyper-V Server 2012R2, Installation and Backups jobs running fine, but we can't create a Recovery media!

Do we need a Recovery media of every Client that have Endpoint Backup free installed, or can we use one recovery media for different clients (in case that we did not use special drivers)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Bernd,

Server core is not supported. The requirements are listed here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/endpoint/1 ... ments.html

Hi Mike,

thanks for your answer.

Can you answer on my second question too, please?
Because we make Backups without Errors of a HyperV-Server and if we dont need a specific Recovery Media we can use it in the future ;)

Can you say what specific functions are not compatible with Core-Servers?

Bernd

It's recommend to have at least one recovery media per OS type. If the hardware configuration is simple, you can create it later when required (you will need another machine for that).

Generally, UI functions are not supported and Recovery Media components are missing.
