i have a new problem with Veeam.
At one of your customers we have a few jobs. A few of them work fine, but with 2 jobs we have problems. Veeam seems to not care about our settings and makes incremental Backups forever.
The job ist configured to keep 14 restore points on disk and it should make a full backup every saturday. These settings are the same on all jobs. But like said at a few jobs everything works fine and at the over 2 we have this problem that veeam only makes incremental backups and does not delete them after the 14 days.
Has this happend to one of you guys before?
I would apreciate it, if you could help me out with this one. And sorry in adavance for my bad english as i am from germany
Have you configured synthethic or active full backups on those jobs in the advanced settings? If so and it looks like it is ignored then please contact support for assistance in what may be going wrong or causing this.
I got in touch with the support today and we found the problem pretty quickly.
It was a problem in the settings we made. We have a differnt job for every machine we backup. After one is finished the next one starts. The first job starts at 10 in the evening. And so it happens on every full backup, that the last 2 jobs are not starting before the next day. So Veeam says it is Sonday and makes a incremental backup.
We changed the schedule now, so that all jobs start before midnight. This should work now.
