Error backing up object

Post by sveen »

I am trying to backup a VM using Veeam Backup and Replication v 5.0.0.179. The job runs for a while, but fails with the following errormessage:
4 of 5 files processed.

Backing up object "xxx.vmdk"
BackupDiskFull failed
Client error: The semaphore timeout period has expired
Failed to write data to the file [\\Nas01\DataVolume\nfs03\Backup\xxx.vbk].

Server error: End of file

I have tried to run the job several times, getting the same errors.
The VM i am trying to back up has two diskdrives. C: disk (200GB) and D: disk (1000GB). But I’m only trying to backup the C-drive. There is plenty of free space on the destination (NFS-share).
I have backed up other VM’s to the same NFS-share without any trouble.

Anyone?

Hello Henning,

Please send all the logs to our support team.
The only idea which came to my mind: something was wrong with the connectivity to NFS share, but you were able to succeed with other VMs, so it should have been something different.
Please work with our support, they will help you. Thanks!

This *may* be resulted by the same issue as described in the Known Issues:
Due to NFS implementation specifics on certain NFS storage, job may fail with rollback file deletion errors. Despite the error status, backups and replicas are created successfully, and required VRB files are deleted properly according to the retention policy. If you are experiencing this issue, please contact Veeam support to obtain registry mod enabling jobs to ignore this error.

Thanks for the replies!
I have already sent an eMail with my problems to support@veeam.com, but haven't got any response yet.
I will tell Veeam support about your tip Gostev! When they get back to me...
