Can VSS Integration Components be rolled back?

Hi All,

I have just upgraded to B & R 9.5 Update 2 (9.5.0.1038).

This update, like many others, requires an upgrade to the Hyper-V Integration Components on my Hosts (my environment utilises Hyper-V rather than VMware).

I am wondering if the integration component can be rolled back (to a previous version)? If it cannot be rolled back what effects on the OS does the component have outside of VEEAM functionality?

Hi David, not sure I follow you here, Veeam B&R update doesn't affect any of the Hyper-V components. Are you probably confusing Veeam Hyper-V Integration Service deployed by Veeam B&R on each host with native Hyper-V Integration Components?

Yes I am confused on this front; does your response mean that the Hyper-V Integration Components installed by VEEAM are completely separate from Microsoft? If so how would I go about rolling-back the installation of the upgraded (VEEAM) Hyper-V Integration Components (assuming that rollback is possible)?

There is no impact outside of Veeam functionality. Why would you want to rollback?

Yes, those are completely different things. Though, Veeam B&R does rely on Microsoft's Hyper-V Integration Services for a number of tasks.
