Hello, usually i use an hyper-v offhost backup proxy with a cluster 2012R2 and some san equallogic,
everything works fine and it's very perfect.
I'm trying to install an hyper-v offhost backup proxy in a new cluster of 3 nodes (2012R2) with a SAN HP MSA 2040.
i had installed a physical server with Hyper-v role installed (2008 R2) and configured access to the SAN luns
i had installed the vds/vss driver and proxy for all the nodes and the backup proxy
i had declare in veeam for the volume the VSS Provider to use
i had declare the backup proxy in veeam
when i backup a vm everything is ok (in onhost mode) but when i try to force offhost backup mode i had the error : unable to select backup proxy
when i read the log i've got the message :
[RTS] Failed to analyze snapshot availability.
[08.06.2017 17:01:02] <16> Error No off-host Hyper-V backup proxies are avaliable (System.Exception)
any idea ?
Thanks for your help

Re: HYPER-v off host backup proxy hp msa 2040
For an off-host proxy to work with Hyper-V, the storage vendor needs to have a Hardware VSS provider. I am not that familiar with the MSAs but that would be the first place I would look.

The hardware VSS provider is installed and is working
I don't understand why the veeeam backup server can't used it
