SQL Explorer for Agent 2.0

Post by gatorheelz »

I understand that VAW 2.0 is fully application aware, but the application console itself has no application aware restore options (only individual files or entire volumes). Is there a version of SQL Explorer that can be installed on the guest OS machine that would allow for application level recovery?

The use case is that we would like users to be able to use SQL Explorer on the machine itself that do not have access to the B&R server.

Hi Wyn,

I assume you are storing those backups to a VBR repository? Are you using VBR enterprise plus? In that case you would be able to use enterprise manager to deliver this kind of functionality (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95).

If you don't have enterprise plus, you can always install the VBR console and explorers on the user machine. But be aware that they might not have direct access to the B&R server, they will have access to backups. You can work a bit with roles as described here (but it more limited as with enterprise manager): https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95

Hope it helps
