Storage Infrastr. for NAS

Hi. I am a little bit confused, as I do not know, which storage infrastructure I need to choose, when I want to do a simply backup to disk, or my nas.Initially, when I add Storage, I habe Cisco, dell, hpe etc., but how can I simple add an network share, or local disc folder? Sorry, for that stupid question....

If you want to add it as target for backups, you need to go the backup infrastructure tab (instead of storage infra), choose repository and add a new repository :

If you mean as a source for backup (you want to backup files that are stored on cifs/smb/nfs), this is currently not supported but has been announced for v10

Correct, in free version you cannot add backup repository. What you can do instead is to select VM to backup, right-click on it, chose "VeeamZIP" option and specify your share as a destination.

Ok thx... I licensed now. I could add a NAS as storage, it shows me free disc space. I create 2 backup jobs, one with my esxi host and one with my hyperv host. When I run, I got error on esx :

Are you using free ESXi? Don't think that's supported (was it ever?)

Yes. But it is licenced now (thought it could run in free mode for some days). But still an error

Hmm, looks like VSS provider issues, maybe volume too large? Anyway, if I were you I would certainly contact support by now!

Thank for support. I got it. Add/remove programs and repair "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB" did help
This must have been something with my Azure AD Connect I recently installed for my O365... Thx !

So only my HyperV issue is not working. But I have not detailed error message

Hi. I have an HyperV Server 2016 with one VM Server 2016 running. The error I get is :

Are all required ports open in accordance with this table? Are you using application aware image processing functionality? If so, can you check whether VeeamVSS service (cannot recall the exact name) isn't stuck on target machine?

Anyway, kindly, reach our support team for further investigation, since logs review is needed.
