Limiting restore points

Post by nilzor »

Hi,

I have been testing the new Agent (free version) and it works very well backing up to veeam repository.
On one agent I have 35 Restore points and I would like to limit that to 16.

I changed the backup setting on the agent side but it still keeps all .vib files and shows the restore points in the console. Ca I manually delete the vib files? I assume that would screw up the catalog file?

Thanks

Hi,

Deleting vib files manually will corrupt the backup chain, you're correct on this. BTW, the retention policy in free version is configured in days not restore points. Can you confirm that you have the restore points setting used?

Thanks!

After changing the days value run a backup job to initiate the merge process.
