Hotadd is giving us a hard time recently...

Post by hasayeretFMG »

So we're on B&R 9.5u2 and we've seen recently that our proxies are unable to use the hotadd and failing over to network mode.
Sometimes they are able to use the hotadd but in the past few days, especially after adding new VMs to the job we see it happens more frequently.
Nothing has changed within the Veeam machine or the proxies but in 3 out of 4 cases they will failover to network mode...

Thoughts?

Update: I am seeing Event ID 15 on the proxies that are unable to work. The events are being created during the backup and the event is basically saying that the disks are not ready...
Any idea?

Had the same issue after upgrading to to 9.5 U2. Workaround was to have the proxy on the same datastore as the VMs that were being backed up and specifying it in the backup job.
Not ideal if you have many datastores but worked in our instance.

Thanks but looks like we were able to find the solution: https://www.veeam.com/kb1882
