A Bug with to many groups

Post by notonlyuser »

Hello. I use the free version with Debian Jessie. I found an error where the program does not start. With install veeam on linux it will be create a group called veeam. In my case it had the groupid 999 and the installation shows no error. But the veeamservice cannot start. A local start shows

Code: Select all

 veeamservice
Server is stopped.
Numerical result out of range
Failed to get group by name.
--tr:Unable to create CGroupInfo for group name: [veeam].
Failed to init CLpbSvcServer.
I could find the problem. If a group has too many users, this error message appears. Here is one entry of /etc/group

Code: Select all

sshusers:x:5002:web1,web2,web3,web4,web5,web7,web8,web9,web10,web11,web12,web13,web14,web15,web16,web17,web18,web19,web20,web21,web22,web23,web24,web25,web26,web27,web28,web29,web30,web31,web32,web33,web34,web35,web36,web37,web38,web39,web40,web41,web42,web43,web44,web45,web46,web47,web48,web49,web50,web51,web52,web53,web54,web55,web56,web57,web58,web59,web60,web61,web64,web65,web66,web68,web69,web70,web71,web73,web74,web75,web76,web78,web79,web80,web81,web82
This group is managed by ispconfig. After I moved the entry veeam above this line with the editor, the service could start. I think the line length is too long and therefore can not be loaded.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing! Support team should have a fix for that, have you contacted them already?

Thanks

I have not reported it to the support, because I thought that "Free" versions are not supported.

"Free" version is supported on the best-effort basis, i.e. there is no SLA.

Thanks
