Surebackupjob vlab works only for 3 weeks?

Post by ahsenden »

Hello,
We use 4 servers in a virtual lab over the Surebackupjob,
This works pretty well for now.
Every time after exactly 3 weeks, the servers are no longer reachable. The Surebackubjob is still running.
Has any of you the problem too?
You have ideas what it could be?

sorry for the bad english

Hi and welcome to the community!

During SureBackup job all changes that take place when the VM is running are written to the differencing disk (AVHD/AVHDX file) created for the recovered VM. I assume that you sinply run out of space. Actually SureBackup is primarily used for backup testing, not for running VMs for long. Do you want to have some sort of a presistent isolated lab? If so then please check this thread.

Thanks

Yes I think I need a permanent lab.

I have read the thread and am of the opinion that I have configured my Lab according to their specifications.

Building a proper vLab is not the only prerequisite. You also need to clone the VMs into that vLab instead of starting them via SureBackup job.

Thanks
