SOBR with multiple Repos on the same volume

Post by mkretzer »

Hello,

we are in the middle of migrating back from REFS to NTFS with SOBR with two backend storages (which will lead to two big extends). Right we still have a REFS on the backend storage which will be the extend for the increments. As soon as retention is over it can be formatted with NTFS (performance mode).

We will do a active full and migrate everything to the extend which will host the fulls. Until retention for the data on the REFS is over we can only use that extend.

Would it be possible to create multiple REPOs for incrementals on this NTFS storage (in different directories) so that when the REFS storage is free we can format that with NTFS, create a new extend for the SOBR and then evacuate the muliple smaller Repos step by step?

Correct, you can create as many directories on one volume as you want to and use them as different extents without any issues.

Can i set a repo to "read only" so that when i start evacuate the first repo the files are not placed on the other soon-to-be evacuated extends?

You can enable maintenance mode for soon-to-be-evacuated extents. Thanks.
