Hello,
Does anyone create a dedicated volume to contain the Veeam snapshot file (forcing it with the location parameter in veeam.ini)? We are juggling around some DAS's attached to one of our servers and moving around data and wondering if it would make sense to dedicate a volume to the Veeam snapshot instead of having it choose the volume with the largest available free space to help avoid I/O contention and space contention with data on the volume that is currently being shared with the Veeam snapshot file.
Any thoughts or suggestions on this or reasons not to dedicate a volume for the Veeam snapshot?
thanks

Re: VAL: Dedicating a volume for Veeam snapshot
Hi,
There are two main scenarios for a dedicated volume:
a) you want to avoid additional IO dropping to any of your production volumes
b) you don't hav enough space for a snapshot on neither of your existing volumes
Thanks
