Question regarding health check start time

Post by serverbu »

Hello

I have a question regarding the actual starting time of the health check.
Documentation states "The health check is started at the beginning of the synchronization cycle before data transport.".

We have a Job that runs every day from sunday to friday.

If we set health check to be performed on saturday when the job won't make a run, is a health check performed or never at all? And if it is performed, will it be on saturday or would it be performed before data transport on the sunday run as this would be the closest run to saturday.

Hi,
If we set health check to be performed on Saturday when the job won't make a run,
Do you use backup window to prevent the job from starting? If so then health-check will be performed on Sunday.

Thank you

We use "Run the job automatically" with 'Daily at this time: -> On these days', and checked all days except saturday.
The box "Terminate job if ..." under 'Backup windows' isn't checked.

We use "Run the job automatically" with 'Daily at this time: -> On these days', and checked all days except Saturday.
Which means that you're talking about Backup Job not Backup Copy Job, is that correct? If so, then please keep in mind that the following statement "The health check is started at the beginning of the synchronization cycle before data transport." holds true only for Backup Copy Jobs. In case of Backup Job it's the opposite - health check is performed at the end of the backup session. So, what kind of job were you talking about?

Thank you

Its a Backup Job.
I couldn't find other statement than that on Backup Copy and assumed it works the same for both Job types.

If you set health check to run on Friday then it will kick off in the end of Friday backup session, if you set it to run on Saturday then it will be postponed until the of the next backup session (in your case its Sunday).

That clarify things.
We will set health check to friday run and see if it works as intended.
Thank for the information.

Best regards
