How to delete few months old restore points

Post by mobin.qasim »

Hi Guys,

Could someone please guide me how to remove few months old restore points in the backup chain. I've attached a URL for the image showing all the restore points.

As shown in the image it seems like the actual backup chain starts from 22nd July - 31st July but there's 4 previous restore points which I'm unable to understand why they exist. I even tried to reduce the retention policy but the old restore points remain there.

Hi Mobin,

You can delete old .vbk files manually from the repository, then go to UI and remove missing restore points from the DB. Thanks!

@DGrinev, thanks for the quick reply. I've manually deleted the old .vbk files, but I couldn't find any missing restore points in the DB as per your attached link. I'll monitor the backup job and will update here.

Backup is running fine after deleting the old .vbk files manually. I didn't had to anything for missing restore points in the DB.
