I wanted to understand how the VBR server does the calculations to generate the value in the report to be able to predict approximately the duration of a similar task depending on the amount of information to be processed. The duration of the tasks and the processed sizes do not have a clear relation with the proceesing rate value.

Processing rate — average speed of VM data processing. This counter is a ratio between the amount of data that has actually been read and job duration.
In practice, the rate depends on many factors, such as backup method, transport mode, proxy settings and performance etc, so you cannot simply say that if one 100GB VM was processed with 20MBps, another will take same amount of time.

Does this data match the Data Size of the Backup Job Historical Information report?

I`ve found a thread where we discussed the same issue.

Data size — total size of all VM disks processed by the job.
Read — amount of data read from the datastore by the source-side Data Mover Service prior to applying compression and deduplication.
Transferred size is the amount of data the backup job transferred to the destination.
Data Read is not present in the report yet.

We are still planning to update the report in the next major release of the product.

Hello All,

I am a bit confused regarding the Backup Job Historical Information report.
The last 2 columns perplex me:

Transferred - as I understand it this is the actual size of the backup itself (I confirmed this myself, comparing numbers with the backup repository files)
Total Backup size - from the name I would think this is the total amount of backed up data?

Any and all clarifications will be appreciated.
