Hi
I've a customer with a small environment and so we need only a single tape drive.
We've one daily job to a Windows folder (located on a NAS), daily jobs from Windows agents to a second repository and a GFS job weekly on tape which eject the tape after finishing.
The jobs works as expected, but
if there was a failure on tape job Veeam B&R will automatically retry the tape job and comes into a failure, because there is no tape within the drive.
This feature is fine for a tape library, but not for a single drive.
For this scenario it would be fine if there is an additional option called for example "Do not retry the job after finishing with failure"
Thanks and regards,
Urs

Re: [Feature Request] Retry handling for tape jobs
Hi Urs,
Thanks for your post.
Thanks for your post.
Can you please clarify the root cause of tape job failure? Was that a connectivity issue? Thanks.if there was a failure on tape job

Re: [Feature Request] Retry handling for tape jobs
It was an issue within a backup job to one of the repositories.
But anyway... I think it would make sense to have an option to finish the job, after the tape is ejected.
