Veeam Agent and VPN connection

Post by marcmoe »

Hello,

wei have road warriors which are travelling with their Laptops and they use VPN to connect to our Network.
We have tested VEEAM endpoint 1.5, but we got some Problems with Long backup time and high data volume which was transfered between B&R Server and client.

It took a Long time to detect the files which has to be in the backup on the Client.
In my opinion Client was comparing local data with exisiting data on the backup Server/repository?
Also a lot of data traffic was generated.

Now, with VEEAM Agent 2.0, has this behaviour optimized?
For Clients which are connected with slow VPN , are there best practices for backup?
Is something like CBT available, so the Client has not to compare the changes?

Thank you

Regards

Hello Marc,

Version 2.0 has a lot of new features and one is specifically designed for cases like yours - it's called Backup Cache. Take a look at brief described here and in case you want to try it now – here is the link to new version (it should have a trial license included).
