Ubutnu Veeam Backup Agent - UI crash

Post by MatthiasR »

Hi,

Server: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS (Terminal only, no GUI)

I installed Veeam Agent for Linux and configured it over the UI.
All works fine and very easy.

Suddenly the backup stops working.
So i try to get in the UI, but the terminal just flashes and do nothing.

When i use the veeamconfig command, I see the configured job, but can´t see any session.

Code: Select all

veeamconfig session list
Error: XML error: [Error document empty.]. Error code: [13].
2017-05-26 01:00:25..., length: 320].
SessionScope: Unable to find all sessions.
I already uninstall and reinstalled it (with APT-GET uninstall and purge option).

But always the terminal just flashes and the UI don't show up.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Kind regards,
Matthias

Problem solved.

In this case, the Veeam Agent SQL database was damaged.

Problem get solved with Veeam-Support.

Warning: Keep in mind that steps 1 and 5 should help to save your current settings but sometimes because of database corruptions it doesn't work, so, possibly, you'll face a requirement to reconfigure the job from scratch (however, anyway, your old restore points still available for restore - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=10

1. Export the current Veeam Agent config (it's required to import the current jobs back once you recreate the database):
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=10

2. Stop Veeam Agent service:
service veeamservice stop

3. Move all files from /var/lib/veeam to any other folder (it's VAL DB folder);

4. Start Veeam Agent service (it will recreate VAL DB this time):
service veeamservice start

5. Import the config back:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=10
