Backup Copy takes longer then backup interval

Post by omfk »

Hi,

unfortunately at least the initial backup copy takes longer than the backup interval (slow WAN link). Is there a way that the backup copy job continues even if a new backup is created?

Hi Frank, you need to extend the copy interval so that initial sync could complete and then set it back to the desired value. Btw, what are the bottleneck stats for this backup copy job, what is the link between source and target and does it use WAN acceleration?

I was able to create a sufficient long interval without backup to finish the initial sync.

Stats for the initial sync:
08.09.2017 21:05:13 :: Load: Source 2% > Proxy 28% > Network 99% > Target 0%

Link is 100MBit/s synchron on the source side and a cable connection (100MBit/s down / ~10MBit/s up). No WAN acceleration is we only have Veeam Essential.

Not sure I understand, were you able to complete the job successfully?

Since network is the bottleneck and you do not have WAN acceleration, nothing you can do to speed up the process, except probably seeding the entire job.

Yes, I was able to complete the job successfully. As all incrementals were and will be much smaller no further issues are to be expected.
