Cannot see rebuilt ESX host

Post by MCScrapE »

I had two ESX servers being backed by Veeam 5.0. I had to rebuild one of them and I while I used a different host name, I re-used the same IP address. Initially Veeam threw errors after the server was rebuilt. I removed the server and when I attempt to re-add I get an error message saying the host already exists in the database. I am using the default SQL Express and want to verify I just need to go into the database to remove the IP. Thank you.

Hello Andrew,

How was your ESX added, by hostname or IP address?

It could be that you also have this host added implicitly (via vCenter). Do you have your vCenter added to the Veeam Backup Servers tree?
