Veeam One free edition DB size maxed in 3 days?
I am trying numerous products for helping to get a better view of our virtual environment. One of which is Veeam One free edition. We are using the free edition because we are trialing it while deciding if we want to purchase the full product.
I set this up on Monday using SQL Express. Today, 3 days later, I got the warning that the DB is nearing max. I just looked at it, and sure enough it is at 9.3GB.
Is this normal? At this rate we will have a 1.1TB DB in a year!

Re: Veeam One free edition DB size maxed in 3 days?
Hello Tim,
thanks for the request. The database size depends on a lot of factors, but can fill up a SQL Express version soon.
Over time we move out older collected stuff, so that the database will stabilize and will not grow that much.
There is a calculator for all this:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2246
For a test you can maybe use a 90/180 day MS SQL Server trial if you do not have a SQL license. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcen ... r-2014-sp2
Usually you can install the trial version over the existing SQL Server, so that you do not have to change anything.

Hello Tim,
How many VMs do you have? In 3 days SQL Express should not fill.
By the way, you may use trial version of Veeam ONE instead of free to check all the functions.
Thanks!

If you have some hundred VMs, I often saw ONE hitting the SQL Express limit. (We collect history from vCenter).

But not in 3 days I guess. As a workaround you can disable collection of particular performance metrics you don`t use, say network-related when you have another specific tool for network monitoring.

Database can be maxed out even in 1 day if the infrastructure is really big
