is VAC out yet?

Post by Johnson »

I cant seem to find the downloads for VAC.
But from this link, it seems that VAC is available?

http://original-network.com/step-by-ste ... e-install/

Anyone can advise please? I need to propose a desktop/laptop backup solution with centralized management.

Hi Johnson,

If you're service provider, then you can apply to private VCSPs forums to be informed on the VAC release progress.
VAC is not released yet, it was distributed between registered Service Providers at Veeam for testing purposes (beta program). Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Grinev. I googled around for abit and it seems that Q3 is the targetted date for VAC to be released.
However, it is already Q4 now. Will VAC be out anytime soon?

I think VAC is really good for my scenario.

Yes, we decided to bump up the scalability limits, that's why there is a small delay. The release should happen soon. If you want to be notified, please join the VCSP program and then apply to our private forums for service providers.

Noted on the information.
I would like to clarify on the following please:

I tried to install a Veeam VBR (9.5 Update 2) test server, tried to point the VAW to the server but encountered error:

"Unable to obtain a Veeam Agent for Windows license from the backup server.
Not enough licenses on Veeam Backup & Replication server."

I assumed that I will need VAW license in order for VBR to "manage" the agents.

However, if VAC is released, do i still need to purchase license for VAC to manage the VAW clients? Since VAC is free.

That's correct.

You can manage Veeam backup agents only if you have a license key for the agent. Agents running in the free mode will have to be managed manually. In other words, you will need to install the Agent license key to VAC or Veeam B&R to use the centralized management feature.
