Failed to create VM recovery checkpoint, VHD Set
Hello. My support has expiried 08.11.2017, but I think that my case will help developers find bugs and fix them.
Have Cluster win2016, two VMs with shared disk (VHDS), two storage^
NetApp, connected by iSCSI
Dell sc2020 connected by SAS (HBA)
When the VMs are located on yc2020 and I start backup, the backup falls into error - it is impossible to create the snapshot.
But when I moved the machines to netapp, the backup was successful.
I attach the log of job for developers: https://www.sendspace.com/file/mapojn

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your case. Did you try to create a snapshot manually when running on sc2020?
Thank you!

If you're using shared VHDX, then only crash-consistent backup is possible. Please take a look at this thread > Backing up a Windows Failover Cluster with Shared vhdx?

Ok, I was just referring to the error message you have on the screenshot. Must be something specific to storage configuration then.

Re: Failed to create VM recovery checkpoint, VHD Set
NetApp, connected by iSCSI
Dell sc2020 connected by SAS (HBA)
NetApp - snapshot take by NetApp VSS (installed with SnapDrive)
Dell - snapshot take by MS VSS
Perhaps the reason is this:
Snapshot NetApp is make directly on 2040 (in fact the clone volume is temporarily), and not on the server.
Veeam take backup from the snapshot on 2040
A snapshot of Del is make on the server.
Please? send this info to the developers.

Ok, I will share your scenario with the QA team to see if they can reproduce it or not. Thanks for the heads up!
