Manually Deleted Restore Points- Unable to Backup

Post by billycryptokid »

Hey all,

I manually went in and deleted vibs and vbk's in Explorer so that I could start backups fresh(I know, hindsight this was an awful idea). However, now that I have, when I try and run a backup job it states that it cannot find the file. Im assuming Veeam keeps a SQL database that is edited automatically with the set retention policy. Is there anyway to reset this so that I can get a fresh backup chain?

Hello John,

Try changing the backup location in backup job configuration (basically, just point the job to another folder).

In case of backup & replication repository you should remove backup from the configuration. Open VBR console, go to Backup and Replication node, find this backup under Backup > Disk, right click and select 'Remove from configuration'
