Running a Failover Plan - WITHOUT shutting down source VM

Post by daeus »

Hi, I ran a test disaster recovery by turning on the replica servers in another location, however it failed as I could not RE-IP the replica servers (Domain Controller, Exchange Server) manually which sit on a different subnet due to their NIC windows settings freezing when re-configuring either via the GUI or CMD/Powershell, I managed to Re-IP the first DC but not the second.

So I just found out about the Veeam Failover plan feature which can RE-IP servers on boot as long as the Veeam server is on the DR Side.

However I wanted to ask - can you run a failover plan WITHOUT shutting down the source VM, for testing I would not want this to happen.

Thanks

Hello, failover plan itself doesn't shut down the original VMs.
