Veeam Agent/vCenter Server compatibility?
Hi,
Has anyone installed Veeam Agent on the same Windows server that vCenter Server was installed on? Had any issues with vCenter Server after the fact?
I installed Veeam Agent last night on the Windows 2008 server I run vCenter Server on and can no longer reach the vCenter Server package. Technically, I can log on but it appears it can't reach its database. No hosts come up, etc.
Am I just that lucky or has anyone else encountered this?

Re: Veeam Agent/vCenter Server compatibility?
Hi Ben,
Using Veeam Agent is fully supported with vCenter Server. What errors do you see in the event log when vCenter Server tries to reach its database? What is the status of vCenter Server db?
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Agent/vCenter Server compatibility?
Hi,
Nothing in the Windows event logs, but the web console displays this message:
Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems:
https://Backup.local.webworldinc.com:443/sdk
How would I check the db? If I recall I didn't choose the SQL Server option. Running vCenter server 6.5.
FWIW, all VMware services are started and running.

Re: Veeam Agent/vCenter Server compatibility?
I didn't want to wait until Monday for support on this one, so I just reinstalled vCenter server. That has its own set of problems, but those I can manage.
Thanks for the help regardless!

Ok! If that was a SQL Server, then you could have checked the db status by using SQL Management Studio.

I believe it was Postgress(?). It definitely wasn't SQL Server, unfortunately. That's the only one I'm comfortable with.

Yes, PostgreSQL is also an option. I believe it also has some management tools to verify the db health state.
