Veeam Restores.

Post by Marcus »

Hi All,
I am quite new to veeam.

I have backed up a single vm on my host server1 using veeam backup and replication.

i.e VM1

I want to restore vm1 to my target host which is server2.

Which gives me the option when i want to start entire vm restore.

The question I have is when I do the restore to server2 with hyper v running does the restore need a vm placeholder or just restores to hyper v automatically is there any settings i need to apply to the target server hyper v settings to allow restore
Thanks
Mark

Hi Marcus,

You don't need any placeholders for the restore.
Both hosts should be added to the backup infrastructure of Veeam B&R, so during the restore you'll be able to choose another location and select host server2. Thanks!

I was doing a restore of 4 vm's I could access 3 of them but got above error message "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" on my 4th vm restore?

Any advice would be appreciated has i tried a restore of the same vm few days ago and was able to access that vm but now i cant ?

Hi Marcus,

It seems to me the error doesn't relate to the restore process at all.
You should check the account of the machine you are restoring in the Active Directory. Thanks!
