Move\Convert Windows Agent Backups to VM-based backups

Post by ETS-Jono »

Is there a way to move or convert Windows Agent-based backups to VMware VM-based backups within the same repository while maintaining the backup history?

Essentially, I have a handful of physical machines that are being converted to VMware VMs and I'd like to not have to seed their backup and offsite copy data again since it is almost 60TB between local and offsite copies.

Running VBR 9.5 Enterprise Plus with WAN Acceleration running between local and offsite repositories.

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the community Jonathan,

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to map agent based backup to a VM backup, so you have to start a new backup chain for your vms after migration.
