Could not perform threshold check for backup location

Post by itbox »

Hi, we have the warning "Could not perform threshold check for backup location "\\172.16.12.75\PCBackups\xx\" due to space info retrievement fail! " since some days ago on every backup job on one pc using veeam agent for windows. newest free version. The backup runs fine every evening, the backup is ok, not broken, but every time the warning appears. The backup destination is a network share on Synology Diskstation.
On another PC, in the same Network, same backup destination, different username, password, the warning doesn`t appear.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you

Hello itbox,

Please open a support case via Control Panel > Support > Technical Support and share the case ID, meanwhile I'll check with QA team. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. QA suggested to try this regkey:

Create the following registry entry:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup

Type: DWORD
Name: DisableVolumeFreeSpaceCheckWarning
Value: 1

Restart the Veeam Agent for Windows Backup service. It should disable the free space warning completely.

I have had this issue with multiple customers and they still get the message. Does Veeam have any real fix for this? They keep asking for hop on customer computers to figure out what the issue is. I've had this happen on at least 6 different computers. Is Veeam not able to reproduce the issue? They all run Synology.

Hi Gabriel,

Can you provide a bit more details about the issue?
Are you getting this error from the Veeam Agent for Windows?

It's worth to contact the support team and raise a ticket. Thanks!

You can try to use the regkey mentioned above by Dima P.
I'd recommend raising a ticket with the support team and let them take a closer look. Thanks!
