GFS resulting points
A copy job is configured with the following Target settings:
Restore points to keep = 2
CHECKED Keep the following restore points as full backups for archival purposes
Weekly backup = 0
Monthly backup = 12
Quarterly backup = 0
Yearly backup = 0
CHECKED Read the entire restore point from source backup instead of synthesizing it from increments
Will the total restore points result in 12 or 2 + 12? Bottom line, I just want to keep 1 full backup from every month on the repository.
Thanks!

Re: GFS resulting points
How often does a backup copy job run? In other words, what is the synchronization interval?

Every 24 hours, i.e. once a day

So, you will have from 2 to 33 restore points, since with "Read the entire restore point" option enabled backup copy job functions as forward incremental job with periodic full (monthly one, in your case). Check this User Guide page; might be helpful. Thanks.

Ah OK. Maybe a better question would be... How could I use the GFS above to just retain one full backup for each month?

Re: GFS resulting points
Hi James,
You can leave "Read the entire restore point..." unchecked, this way the backup copy job will retain 2 restore points (1 full + 1 increment) through the months and leave a copy of the full backup file according to the GFS retention schedule. Thanks!
