Quick backup is an incremental but it is an on-demand incremental backup.

additionally, quick backup is per vm and does not count as a retention point that is configured inside the job. The retention is "glued" to the previous point.

So it is extremely useful if you need to do some maintenance inside a VM like upgrading software, but you don't feel confident that you wont break anything. In this case, you can just do a quick backup just before you start instead of keeping a snapshot open for a longer time.

As Tim said the quick backup is VM related where as your incremental backup job (where more than 1 VM is involved) then yes the incremental may take longer than a quick backup.

Hi,

Incremental run is scheduled by the backup job settings you've made.
Quick Bakcup initiates creation of additional incremental run for a particular VM or an existing job, in case when you need more restore points than it's set by the Retention policy. Thanks!

No, quick backup restore points are not counted within regular retention. You can read about how they are treated here.
