Network traffic changes between hard disks of one VM

Post by YannickMetz »

Hello,

can some one explain how the network traffic changes while processing hard disks of one vm?

I run a job of a vm with 2 hard disks. First disk with 120mb/s second disk only with 30mb/s.

i dont understand how this happens.

best regards

Is the same proxy used to process those disks? What about transport mode used? Thanks.

Yes. All disks are processed by the same proxy. Transport mode is Hotadd/Virtual appliance mode.

If both disks are located on the same datastore and the same proxy uses the same transport methods to process them (according to the task session log), then, the speed discrepancy looks a bit suspicious and you might want to contact our support team to confirm the environment. Thanks.

Thank you.

Yes all disks for this vm are located on the same datastore and they use the same proxy.
I dont know if it could cause the speed discrepancy because the proxy mounts the first disk, processes it and mounts the second disk to process it. instead of dismounting the first disk before it mounts the second disk.

Support should be able to verify the reasons of this behavior, please contact them directly.
