log truncate issue (id 019841199)
Dear All,
We have a phisical Exchange 2010 DAG solution with 3 nodes (4 active DB each node).
We start to try VEB 1.5.0 to perform a full/incremental volume backup, but at the end no transaction logs are truncated. The volume include 4 db and log folders.
Can you help us?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Riccardo,
On what node VEB is installed? What is the OS? All nodes have the same set of databases, is that correct?

Hi Dima,
VEB is installed in node where db are active.
Os is Win 2008 R2 (Exchange 2010 SP3 fully patched)
All nodes have the same set of db.
In VEB log set I found "Truncating SQL logs. Ok." But in Exchange Log folder, the older ttransaction logs still remain!
Thanks!

Riccardo,
Thanks for the clarification. What backup mode are you running? Is that 'Entire PC' backup mode or specified volumes only?

Specified volume only, where DB and log folder are located.
Tks!
Tks!

Try to include the system volume as well. Exchange won’t truncate the logs if all DBs are not included and I believe a ‘service part’ of DAG is installed on the system volume.

Re: log truncate issue (id 019841199)
Dima,
This is not the case. I'm able to perform the backup and successful truncation of the logs in 2 of the 4 nodes in my environment. I perform a volume level backup on the Public Folder Drive / The Log Folder and the C Drive and it works. I just have to figure out why its not working for the other 2 nodes in the 4 node cluster dag.
