A large VM historical report for cloud migrations?

Post by lando_uk »

Hi

We're working with a cloud partner to produce a migration business case.

I've been through all the reports but can't seem to find one that can export a 6 month CPU/Mem chart for ALL our VMs, all in one report (even if its hundreds of pages) - I can do it for hosts and clusters or individual VM's, but not one massive report that I can fire off and hand over to them for analysis.

The Microsoft MAP tool lets you export all your collected data in a SQL.BAK so that a service provider and browse/analyse it offline, it'll be good if Veeam One had such a feature as I don't want to give them access to the live data.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
Have you checked Custom Performance report? Seems like that's what you are looking for.
Thanks!

Another report that might be useful is this one > VMware Raw Performance Data

Thanks, I have exported the custom performance for the last quarter for all VMs, they seem to find it useful.

Maybe there should be a built in, tailored `cloud migration` report feature - But I guess you guys really don't want people to migrate to the cloud :)

Actually, you're not the only one asking for this report. What cloud you're planning to migrate to? Azure?

Got it! If you have Veeam MP, then you review our existing report that enables VM migration scenarios.
