Post by nick@work »

Our backup store is completely full. We have budget and working with vendors on getting an upgraded store, but in the meantime, how can i remove restore points to get the backup functioning again?

Delete the actual backup files? That won't delete all the backups in the job? I just want to reduce the restore points from 30 days to 20 days, removing the older restore points.

Yes, whatever you will delete from the file system is what will be deleted. Nothing more, nothing less :D

But of course, you should keep in mind dependencies as well - for example, deleting a full backup file will render all the dependent incremental backups useless, even if you keep them on the disk. So, if you are not completely confident in your backup chains knowledge, it might be best to have our support engineer help you out.
