which port is needed to connect to windows repository?

Post by newbyam »

Hi everybody and happy new year.

I´m trying to configure Veeam Agent for linux in command line to connect to a repository under windows server 2016, my question is which port may I have to use.

I'm trying to use 135 and 10001, 10002 or 10003 and I only get a message that sais "Info - Please wait" and nothing happens. The only thing that I can do is ctrl+C to force exit the GUI.

What is the correct info to fill in?

Thanks in advance

Hello newbyam!

Happy New Year to you too!

Have you tried ports mentioned in this Help Center article? The default port used for communication with the Veeam backup server is 10006. Thanks!

I am having the same scenario.
By default the agent displayed 10006 as the port.
Our Repo server was configured to use 10001. Regardless which port I set in the agent, I am presented with the "... Please wait" prompt and there it sits.

Hello Bob,

You need to specify the port to connect to Veeam B&R and not to repository. Have you tried 10006 port?

Sorry, I used Repo when I should have stated B&R.

Have you configured access permissions for the repository via Veeam B&R console? Thanks.

Hi,

newbyam,
I´m trying to configure Veeam Agent for linux in command line to connect to a repository <...> The only thing that I can do is ctrl+C to force exit the GUI.
So, its not clear whether you use GUI, or command-line? If the former, then please follow Dima's recommendations, if the latter then kindly provide the exact command that you used. Please mind, that for successfull connection to the repository service itself the whole range of ports is required.

Thanks.

Dear all, sorry for answering to late, my vcenter died and I have to completelly reinstall it, so this is the reason what I can't done nothing.

My solution is to still using veeam instead of veeam agent (The node is a VM insinde Vcenter)

I just have to quickly tried to connect again and I have a "connection refused form the server using 443, 10003,10004, 10005 and 10006 ports

telnet to ports 10001 to 10003 get into an "infinite" connecting, 10006 directly refuses any try to connect,

Where I can set up this ports?

I'm going still using veeam instead of agent but I can try to connect this way only for fun.

Thanks again

For VAL 2.0 port 10006 (10002 for older versions of VAL) should be sufficient to establish connection from agent to VBR. If the required ports are already allowed on VBR Windows firewall but the connection does not get through please keep working with support team.

Thanks
