Need help with seeding

I keep finding articles on seeing a copy job, what I need is to seed a backup job. Can anyone point to info on this?

We have about 10-15 servers that sit at remote offices that are on a T1 or slower line that need to be backed up. From there just incremental. I assume the seed will be done from the agent to a portable drive.

This is another guide for seeing a backup copy. That is all I can find. What I need is a guide to see a 'backup' rather than the copy. We have remote physical (not virtual) servers we need to seed before pulling incrementals. Copy is not an issue between DR sites.
