quick migration

Post by baber »

Dear all

i understand these from quick migration :

1- if i don't have esxi license for migrate vms can use veeam for migrate them
2- if i want migrate vms between 2 hosts with different cpu in hot mode can not do that veeam automatically will power.off vm
3- if i want migrate vms between 2 hosts with same cpu it can be do without down time
4- force vm migration: if uncheck force vm migration that migrate vm will be do via vmware migration and if check that migration will be do via veeam backup replication

are these correct ?

1. Correct.
2. Correct.
3. Not without a downtime at all, but with minimum possible downtime (VM is suspended and then resumed on the target host).
4. If the check box is not selected, VMware migration is attempted, but in case it is not available, Veeam B&R will fail over to its native migration mechanism.
